Employers are likely to step up their use of social media as a recruitment tool in the coming year to boost their chances of finding the best person for a specific position, graduate sales job hunters may be interested to note.
A recent survey by CareerBuilder.com discovered that 37 per cent of firms are planning on putting a greater emphasis on their social media presence in the coming months.
Richard Doherty, group vice president of solutions at Jobpartners, believes that firms are likely to use interest groups to source candidates, alongside providing company information.
He said: “Social media will play an increasingly important role in attracting and engaging with top talent.
“Key to the success of social recruiting will be to ensure that it is aligned and integrated with an organisation’s existing recruitment processes and technology.”
Meanwhile, by stepping up their forage into social networking, employers are likely to be also increasing their brand visibility, alongside significantly enlarging the number of people to discover a job is available, according to strategic talent management expert Dr John Sullivan.
